He added that the 1,200 personnel of the provincial police continue to be subjected to random drug tests. Among those being made to take the drug tests are members of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU).

So far, he said, no one tested positive for using illegal drugs.

Maranan said anyone found positive of drug use will be charged administratively with corresponding case for dismissal from service.

The anti-criminality campaign also has been intensified, resulting in a 21% reduction in crime incidence across the province.

Meanwhile, the intensified campaign against anti-illegal drugs has been going on without let-up and it has resulted in the noted drop in the supply of drugs in the province.

Maranan said on peace and order, the province is well under control. (Nora Dominguez)
